Political scientist, Gloria Alvarez, explained that using data and hard facts is not enough when we teach new audiences about liberty. We need to learn how to communicate the ideas of liberty with emotions and passion in order for these ideas to stick.

In Guatemala, on International Women’s day, Congress approved a law that penalized individuals with 6-10 years of jail if any person talked about abortion in an indirect or direct way, whether privately or publicly. Legally forbidding any mention of sex education and sexual diversity in any private or public education institution. It also tripled abortion penalties and allowed women with miscarriages to be investigated by police. LOLA leader, Estela, with the support of other groups, successfully made Congress step down and repeal the law.
