The LOLA Leadership Retreat
The LOLA Leadership Retreat held in October brought together new and active Chapter Leaders worldwide for a 3-day retreat centered around classical liberalism, leadership training, team-building, and fun. Read the full details of the 2019  Leadership Retreat including speakers and training here.

LOLA at the Women’s March
LOLA joined the Independent Women’s Forum at their ‘March For All Women’ rally to celebrate women’s achievements and advancements while championing all women. LOLA’s President, Nena Whitfield, gave a short speech on optimism for all women. Afterward, LOLA and Feminists for Liberty marched in support of libertarianism, freedom from government, and empowered women.

LOLA Nigeria Women’s Conference
LOLA Nigeria hosted the 2019 LOLA Nigeria National Conference in August which brought together women all across the country for training and discussion of the power women have in the 21st century. They also discussed the importance in Liberty and communication in an organization, how to develop a social media presence, and more.

What are Ladies of Liberty up to?

Ladies of Liberty or LOLAs, are dedicated to spreading the ideas of individual liberty and free markets through their careers, personal endeavors, and their LOLA Social Chapters. Take a look at some 2019 highlights:

1. LOLA Brazil was nominated as one of the best libertarian organizations in Brazil by Boletim da Liberdade! The 3rd Bulletin of Liberty Award is an initiative organized by the Freedom Bulletin and aims to recognize and value the main names and projects related to the defense and diffusion of freedom in Brazil.

2. LOLA International Coordinator, Ayemen Fatima, was named Students For Liberty’s Student of the Year at LibertyCon 2019 in Washington D.C.! She received this award for her pro-liberty activism and dedication to spreading the ideas of individual liberty and a free society.

3. LOLA Brazil President, Cecília Lopes, was a featured panel speaker at the ‘Progress of Women in the Liberty Movement’ event where panel members discussed the importance of the integration of women in Brazil’s freedom movement.
Cecília Lopes was also invited to speak on a panel at a Livres event at Centro Ruth Cardoso. They discussed the current state of Brazilian cities, the impact old-fashioned legislation has on Brazilian cities, and why libertarian policies lead to more prosperous cities.

4. LOLA Communications Coordinator, Savannah Lindquist, testified before the United States House Judiciary Committee on her experience with sexual violence and the importance of the Second Amendment.

5. LOLA Bogotá, Colombia chapter leader, Tatiana Castelblanco, was featured on Zona Franca to discuss the participation of women in Colombia’s politics.  View Debate Here

6. LOLA Argentina Chapter Leader, Nina Sosa, (pictured second from left) was invited by the Latin American organization, Red Alas, to talk about the popularity of libertarian ideas among Argentinian women and what the future of liberty might look like.


It has been a wonderful year of growth for LOLA! A huge thank you to all Ladies of Liberty across the globe working to promote the ideas of Liberty in their cities.
