Retreat Recap

Day 1: October 16th
On the first day of the LOLA Leadership Retreat, ladies gathered to share their How I Found Liberty Stories. We heard stories of diverse backgrounds, different experiences in the liberty movement and realized that even though we are in different parts of the world, we all have liberty in common.

Day 2: October 17th

Students For Liberty African Programs Director and LOLA Africa Leader, Linda Kavuka, helped us explore our leadership styles, and how to be an effective leader for LOLA and beyond. Linda has helped start up various LOLA Chapters throughout Africa, and continues to encourage, challenge, and develop liberty minded leaders in LOLA and beyond. Linda acts as a mentor to many LOLA Africa Leaders who lovingly call her ‘Mama Africa’.

LOLAs participated in the 60 second elevator pitch where they practiced delivering their LOLA Chapter goals for anyone, anytime, and any place.

Sabrina Riveiro and Maria Jose Fernandez of LILA Uruguay answered the top 2 most commonly asked questions among LOLA Leaders: how to keep my chapter engaged and how to gain new members for liberty?

Day 2: October 18th

We learned the best practices of LOLA Brazil’s social media channels and how they grew their audience from 1 city to 13 cities throughout Brazil. With LOLA Brazil Leaders Camila Bosa, and Cecilia Lopes.
