Chapter Program Updates – April

Reunion LOLA CDMX Abr.26

This April, we had over 50 events hosted by our leaders in all the regions. From amazing events hosted in Brazil, Latin America, and Africa, we are also happy to talk about the amazing work of our regional leader for the United States, Nafisa Pierce, who went on a 3,000-mile road trip across the country for the annual April LOLA USA tour, visiting 15 chapters in 15 cities across 21 days.

(By the way, she did all of that with two babies with her.) Thank you, Nafisa, for your work!

Keep reading for some amazing events from our chapters.

Latin America

Our LOLAs in Latin America had a fun and impactful April! Chapters across the region hosted events focused on leadership, freedom, and activism, tackling topics like the challenges of engaging in activism in Peru, government overspending in Mexico, and the role of the state in regulating marriage.

A standout event featured Gloria Álvarez, where participants explored how leadership rooted in freedom develops over time, the barriers young women face as leaders, and the importance of women in Latin America actively promoting ideas of freedom. Members also held open discussions on “unpopular ideas,” creating space for honest and courageous conversations.

Members explored creative topics like analyzing “The Devil Wears Prada” through the lens of career and identity, social media strategies for women entrepreneurs, and the concept of liberty in Brazil, all while diving into big ideas around free markets and limited government.

On the political front, chapters held panels on public policy, and participated in major events including the Atlantos Conference and a large conference featuring President Letícia Barros speaking on women and liberty. Even in Manaus, where heavy rains made things difficult, the chapter still showed up for a session on women’s freedom. LOLA Brazil truly made April one to remember!
