LOLA Social Chapters is one of the three programs of LOLA that help to recruit, train, and promote activists, advocates, and leaders for the advancement of liberty, peace, and a freer society. LOLA Social Chapters are ladies only social groups located in cities throughout the globe, where like-minded women come together to share their passion for libertarian ideas, establish a strong community through relationship building, and empower one another to be active members of the liberty movement. LOLA Social Chapters educate and empower women new and familiar to the ideas of liberty from all walks and stages of life. LOLA Social Chapters look different in every city ranging from college students, young professionals, stay at home mothers, or a mixture of ages/life stages.

Each region is supported by a dynamic Regional Team that equips, mentors, and inspires LOLA Chapter Leaders to confidently grow their chapters, build thriving communities, and amplify the message of liberty.

HISTORY OF LOLA REGIONS

LOLA NORTH AMERICA

The Ladies of Liberty Alliance was born in Washington D.C. in 2009. A small group of women recognized the shortage of women in the liberty movement and decided to take action. volunteers united to create a community that would encourage and empower each other to actively engage in the liberty movement. The concept of a female libertarian group quickly gained popularity across the U.S. and LOLA transformed into a full-time, non-profit educational organization in 2011 under the leadership of Nena Whitfield.

Today, LOLA thrives throughout North America, with our largest Chapters in Washington, D.C., Florida, California, Texas, and more. These Chapters are led by passionate individuals working to spread the message of liberty in their home cities. Throughout the years, we’ve grown and evolved, but our mission remains unchanged: to educate and empower female leaders in the liberty movement.

LOLA LATIN AMERICA

LOLA first established its presence in Latin America in Argentina in 2018, followed by Chile and Colombia in 2019. Word spread quickly about LOLA on Instagram, leading to numerous requests across Latin America from women wanting to bring LOLA to their countries. Today, the LOLA Latin America region is one of the fastest-growing within the organization, boasting over 30 Chapters throughout the region. LOLA’s expansion in Latin America has been so significant that we’ve brought our renowned annual Leadership Retreat—usually hosted in Washington, D.C.—to the region. LOLA LatAm leaders are passionate individuals, activists, and advocates of liberty working to spread libertarian ideas despite Latin America’s socialist roots.

LOLA BRAZIL

LOLA arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2018 and quickly became the fastest-growing region LOLA has ever seen. Thanks to the support and work of volunteers throughout the country, LOLA Brazil works to get liberty-minded women into political positions, effect policy change, promote our ideas in the media, and foster a community of leaders supporting and cheering one another on. Today, LOLA Brazil consists of over 25 Chapters in a single country constantly reaching new audiences for liberty, proving that women are the best ambassadors of liberty.

LOLA EUROPE

LOLA Europe began with its first chapter in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2017, followed by Northern Ireland in 2018. After the global lockdown, LOLA Poland launched its chapter, inspiring more leaders to create women-based communities focused on libertarian ideas. In 2023, LOLA expanded to Spain, Germany, Portugal, and more. Responding to the growing demand in the region, LOLA brought its Leadership Training to top European leaders in 2024, equipping them to become more effective ambassadors of liberty and reach new audiences.

LOLA AFRICA

LOLA established its presence in Africa with its first Chapter in Nigeria in 2018. Word of LOLA quickly spread, leading to the development of Chapters in Burundi, the Congo, Ghana, Tanzania, and beyond. This marked one of the first libertarian women’s movements in Africa. LOLA Africa empowers women to use their voices to spread ideas of liberty in their communities.

LOLA ASIA

LOLA arrived in Asia in 2019, starting in Hyderabad, India, and then expanding to New Delhi. In subsequent years, LOLA spread to Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In 2023, we expanded to Asia Pacific regions like Indonesia. The chapters focus on issues related to women, cultural sensitivities, and free markets. Each country in Asia is unique and faces distinct challenges. LOLA chapters across Asia are introducing ideas to educate people about the importance of free and open societies.

What it takes to be a great LOLA Leader?

⏰ Willing to invest at least 5 hours per week in high-impact leadership — including mentoring other women, organizing events or discussions, growing your chapter, building partnerships, and representing LOLA’s mission in your community.

🌱 A humble and principled leader — focused not on status, but on empowering others, listening deeply, modeling responsibility, and creating space for women to grow in confidence and conviction.
