Melissa Balocca is the managing attorney of a boutique corporate law firm in Los Angeles, CA where she provides legal counsel to startups and emerging companies. Melissa was an early entrepreneur, launching her own legal practice only one year after receiving her Juris Doctorate from UC Berkeley School of Law. Prior to that, Melissa was an associate at K&L Gates LLP and an extern for the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Melissa received her bachelors degree with a concentration in American Government from UCLA. Melissa is now the leader of the Ladies of Liberty Alliance, Los Angeles Chapter and an active member and donor to the Atlas Society. As head of LOLA, LA, Melissa organizes educational forums focusing on topics such as “Theory of Rights: Individuals as Moral Ends” and “The Harm of Selflessness as a Feminine Virtue.” Melissa is also a Commissioner of Parks & Recreation for Los Angeles County and a member of the Measure A Oversight Advisory Board where she provides outside accountability and ensures taxpayer funds are used only for the purposes set forth in the Measure.
