International Women's Day 2026
International Women’s Day 2026
Theme: Free Markets Give Women Choice. Choice Builds Power.
This March, the Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA) is celebrating International Women’s Day with a bold and unapologetic message:
Free Markets Give Women Choice. Choice Builds Power.
Around the world, women are often told that empowerment comes from protection, dependency, or government intervention. At LOLA, we believe something different.
We believe women are powerful when they are free.
Economic freedom expands options. Options create independence. Independence builds confidence, resilience, and leadership.
Throughout the month of March, LOLA chapters across the globe will host events, discussions, and activities designed to shift the conversation — from dependency to agency, from restriction to opportunity, and from rhetoric to real reform.
LOLA International Women’s Day Events
This International Women’s Day, LOLA chapters are celebrating women’s economic freedom through our theme Free Market & Women. Below are event formats that our chapters adapt to fit their communities.
Free Markets, Real Empowerment: Women Entrepreneurs Leading Change
Event Type: Entrepreneur Visit & Story Spotlight
LOLA chapters will host Entrepreneur Visits & Story Spotlights by visiting local woman-led startups and businesses in their communities.
During these visits, members will go behind the scenes to learn how the business started, how it grew, and how market access — customers, competition, trade, digital platforms, networks, and the freedom to sell — helped the entrepreneur succeed.
Chapters will also spotlight these entrepreneurs by producing short interviews, photos, videos, and written profiles to share as part of the International Women’s Day series.
LOLA Game Night: Play the Market
Event Type: Interactive Game Night / Experiential Learning
LOLA chapters worldwide will host LOLA Game Night, where members and guests will play LOLA Deal — The Free Market Card Game.
Through trading, negotiation, voluntary exchange, competition, regulation cards, and innovation challenges, participants will experience the principles of free markets in action.
Rather than learning through lectures, attendees will experience economic freedom through strategy, choice, and exchange.
IWD Celebration: Free Market & Women — Story Night
Event Type: Celebration / Storytelling Night / Community Gathering
Chapters will host Free Market & Women Story Nights — vibrant, community-centered celebrations bringing together members, supporters, and local leaders.
These evenings will highlight inspiring stories of women who have gained confidence, independence, and opportunity through entrepreneurship and market access.
Story Night will be more than a celebration — it will be a reminder that economic freedom is a form of liberty, and women thrive when they are free to participate fully in the market.
The Liberty Mandate: The Barrier Audit
Event Type: Policy Workshop / Civic Engagement Forum
Chapters will host The Barrier Audit — a structured workshop focused on identifying one specific legal, regulatory, or policy obstacle limiting women’s economic participation in their region.
The goal will not be abstract debate, but identifying one actionable reform priority that supports women’s economic freedom.
