LOLA BRAZIL
LIBERTYCON BRAZIL
LOLA Brazil participated in LibertyCon Brazil 2023 held in Belo Horizonte, showcasing a vibrant booth that served as a focal point for their engagement efforts. The Brazilian Chapters were well represented, with four leaders and at least fifteen dedicated members participating in various discussions, networking sessions, and knowledge exchanges during the event.
The LOLA Brazil booth served as a welcoming space for women from diverse regions of Brazil, providing them with a comprehensive introduction to LOLA. The engagement was not merely informational; it was interactive and invigorating, sparking interest among the attendees and extending warm invitations for them to become part of the dynamic LOLA community.
In addition to their booth activities, the LOLA Brazil leaders enjoyed a special luncheon dedicated to discussing the core mission of LOLA, setting expectations for the upcoming months, and reflecting on the achievements and results of the year 2023. This gathering strengthened the bonds among the leaders. It fostered a collaborative spirit, ensuring that LOLA’s vision and objectives continue to flourish in promoting individual liberty and a free society.
LOLA NICARAGUA AND LOLA GUATEMALA
CONVIVENCIA DE HALLOWEEN
LOLA Nicaragua organized an event focusing on uncovering safety challenges encountered by women in their daily lives. The discussion aimed to shed light on the firsthand limitations faced by these women despite considerable investments in security that haven’t yielded improvements. Participants actively shared strategies for navigating these challenges while prioritizing personal safety.
This event not only fostered stronger connections within the LOLA Guatemala and LOLA Nicaragua communities but also highlighted the prominence of social factors in addressing safety, with economic considerations serving as a complementary aspect, particularly in the context of taxation.
LOLA PORTUGAL
LIBERTY NEXT
LOLA Portugal participated as an official event partner at Liberty Next, an SFL Portugal event aimed at college students. This provided a valuable opportunity to introduce LOLA to a previously untapped demographic, extending their reach beyond prior events. Notably, the Chapter connected with a college student who will be instrumental in establishing a new chapter in Porto.
LOLA UBERLANDIA, MINAS GERAIS
TORNEIO REGIONAL DE ROBÓTICA
LOLA Minas Gerais and LOLA Uberlândia participated in a robotics tournament sponsored and supported by LOLA Brazil. Recognizing and valuing the technological competencies of girls is crucial, underscoring the need to encourage their active involvement. Consequently, the Chapter proposes the initiation and presentation of a political project emphasizing the pivotal role of women in technology, aiming to underscore the significance of their participation in shaping the future of this dynamic and evolving field.

NEPAL CHAPTER MEMBER MEETUP
LOLA Nepal’s first meetup with new chapter members was a remarkable success. Participants delved into lively discussions, exploring potential future events, strategies for more intensive engagement with LOLA in Nepal, and the upcoming plans for the Chapter. The meetup was an excellent platform for individuals to express their ideas and opinions freely. This exchange of thoughts was invaluable for shaping the Chapter’s direction moving forward.
LOLA HARARE, ZIMBABWE
ASFL SOUTHERN AFRICA REGIONAL CONFERENCE 2023
In 2023, the ASFL Southern Africa Regional Conference took place, and LOLA Zimbabwe had an exhibit to recruit new members. The Chapter received an enthusiastic response and successfully brought over 30 young women to the movement.
During the conference, the panelists discussed various issues, including the AfCTfA, free markets, business, and the government’s role in creating policies that promote free trade within neighboring countries and Africa. They also tackled topics such as property rights, natural resource management, climate protection, and solutions to issues related to African property rights, gender, elections, and youth participation were also among the topics discussed. Attendees and panelists emphasized the importance of women’s and youth’s participation in politics and the electoral processes. Some of the solutions given included the role of CSOs in providing support and training for women and including both women and young women in politics and the electoral process.
The conference provided valuable insights into the concepts of liberty and what freedom truly means. It gave the LOLA Chapter Zimbabwe leaders and new recruits a good starting point for the Chapter.
LOLA ESPÍRITO SANTO, BRAZIL
VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN: PREVENT TO AVOID
The event was structured into four panels, each featuring a mediator and three distinguished guests representing diverse professional backgrounds such as medicine, psychology, security, law, and education. The overarching goal of the event was to shed light on the issue of violence against women from a unique perspective, deviating from the conventional discourse. Emphasis was placed on exploring the various root causes, proposing solutions to foster women’s autonomy, and assessing the roles of private and business initiatives, thereby steering away from the conventional reliance on state-centric solutions.
Participants praised the event for the caliber and depth of the panelists, acknowledging their expertise and insights. Notably, the main suggestion for improvement centered around enhancing publicity. Many participants felt that the high-quality content deserved more robust promotion, including through local media channels.
The event’s significance was underscored by exploring a theme often tackled primarily by left and feminist movements. Attendees recognized the event’s value in offering a fresh perspective on the issue of violence against women, making it a noteworthy and impactful experience.
