Celebrating Leadership, Courage, and the Spirit of Liberty

Every year, the Ladies of Liberty Alliance proudly recognizes the women and chapters who most exemplify our mission: advancing liberty through leadership, courage, and sisterhood.

The LOLA Annual Awards highlight the many ways in which freedom is advanced within our global network,  through bold advocacy, resilient leadership, long-term commitment, and collective community impact. These awards not only honor extraordinary contributions but also set the standard of excellence for current and future generations of LOLAs.

LOLA Annual Award Winners

Lourdes Nadia Romero Lara
(Latin America Regional Leader)

The Joyce Mbogo Legacy Award Winner

For more than four years, Lourdes has built a lasting legacy within LOLA by leading with empathy, vision, and service. As National Leader of Bolivia, she strengthened the organization through sustainable structures, founding five chapters and creating the national statute and operational framework. She has consistently invested in lifting others, mentoring multiple leaders in Bolivia and Paraguay and guiding new national leaders through their first year with strategic support and encouragement. Beyond organizational leadership, she expanded impact across Latin America through workshops on economic liberty, including a region-wide cryptoassets initiative, published over 15 articles promoting liberty and women’s empowerment, and delivered talks on democracy, civic engagement, and political thought. Her work reflects a deep commitment to long-term leadership development and a legacy that continues beyond her tenure.

Reem Ibrahim
(LOLA UK Chapter Leader)

The María Oropeza Voice of Freedom Award

Reem exemplifies the spirit of this award through her moral courage, principled leadership, and consistent advocacy for liberty—particularly in environments where such perspectives face resistance. As a LOLA Leader, she actively defends individual rights, free expression, and personal responsibility through public engagement with media, students, and broader audiences. Her steady production of high-impact public content, documented advocacy for civil liberties and free markets, and growing recognition as a trusted voice in the UK liberty space have significantly expanded LOLA’s reach. Through her professionalism, conviction, and willingness to speak for freedom even when it is difficult, Reem strengthens LOLA’s visibility, credibility, and influence.

Anne Dias
(LOLA Brazil Former President)

The Flame of Liberty Award

Anne has left an extraordinary legacy as the former President of LOLA Brazil. During her two-year presidency, she activated new chapters, strengthened existing ones, and played a central role as the primary advocate in the María Oropeza case. Beyond her leadership role, she has represented LOLA at major events and in the media, won the Atlas pitch competition, and today is a prominent media commentator in Brazil, consistently advancing the values of liberty. Even after stepping down from the presidency, she remains an active ambassador for LOLA—continuing to strengthen the movement, inspire new leaders, and keep the flame of our mission alive, which is precisely the spirit of this award.

Kat Murti
(Former LOLA Leader Washington D.C.)

The Lady of Liberty Award

Kat is a true powerhouse within LOLA and the only person who can speak to all of our stances clearly and unapologetically. As a former DC leader, she has consistently delivered the strongest panels at our DC retreats, regularly speaks at LOLA events, and continuously recruits new members across the movement. She has played a defining role in shaping LOLA’s culture and leadership, generously investing in current leaders while preserving and communicating LOLA’s history. Her ability to articulate libertarian ideas—and her inspiring leadership on cannabis policy—makes her an indispensable force within LOLA.

LOLA Brazil

LOLA Brazil earned the LOLA Region of the Year award for its outstanding growth and impact, hosting 154 events, launching 7 new chapters, and becoming the only region with over 50% of its chapters active.
