LOLA Visits UFM: a free-market friendly school

LOLA Staffer Izabela Patriota (first on the left) visits LOLA UFM. The University of Francisco Marroquin (UFM) is known as a free-market friendly school located in the capital city of Guatemala. With its credibility of advancing the principles of individual responsibility, free markets, limited government and its ties to political scientist Gloria Alverez, we are thrilled to have a LOLA Chapter right on campus. Maria Estela Martinez (center) is taking charge of the LOLA UFM Chapter. “It’s essential for me to be able to fight against the Marxist advances that keep our people from being individually responsible and makes them think that the same government that commits human rights abuse will do better with more power,” Estela shares, “libertarianism for me, brings the right values and mindset to help this country.”

Women in Afghanistan

LOLA’s Development Director, Izabela Patriota, was invited to speak with Political Dialogues on what is happening to women in Afghanistan from a liberty perspective and the success of bringing more libertarian women into politics through LOLA Brazil.

LOLA at Liberty International World Conference (LIWC21)

Liberty International’s 35th World Conference was held in Medellin, Colombia, from August 12-16, where the world’s most innovative libertarian minds came together to connect and hear from 30 speakers. Maria Alejandra Londoño, LOLA Colombia founder, was the project manager of this conference and a power team compromised of young women from Colombia and Poland. With 19 countries present, this conference showed that women could thrive and prosper around the ideas of liberty and are celebrated as leaders.

New Growth Internationally

LOLA Member is Now Secretary of State in Brazil

LOLA Brazil member, Aline Torres, is now secretary of state in the city of São Paulo. LOLA Brazil remains driven to bringing more libertarian women to the political sphere. Congrats, Aline!

Ana Rizo of LOLA Toronto featured on Libertarian Party TV.

Ana has a very common story to tell: after leaving Venezuela and arriving in a new country, she has met with people who call themselves “defenders of human rights” but who are fans of the system her family has run away from. In this talk with Libertarian Party TV, Ana discusses Latin America, Canada under Trudeau, and LOLA in Toronto, alongside Martha Bueno and Zach Foster.
