LOLA Kathmandu

This May, LOLA hosted an incredible 68 events across 17 countries, proving once again that women around the world are leading the charge for liberty! 🌍🔥

From grassroots leadership workshops to powerful conversations on free markets, property, and personal autonomy, our chapters came together to grow the global movement for freedom.

Here’s a look at some of the standout moments from May:

LOLA Kathmandu, Nepal

Inauguration of the LOLA Dang Chapter and Introduction to LOLA in Dang

The inauguration of the LOLA Dang Chapter marked a significant step toward advancing liberty and women’s empowerment in a region shaped by deeply rooted patriarchal traditions. The event introduced LOLA’s mission—individual liberty, limited government, and free markets—to local women and youth eager to create change.

Key goals included raising awareness about women’s rights, encouraging leadership, and building a supportive local network of freedom-minded women. Speakers included Laxmi Yogi, Deputy Mayor of Lamahi; Lila Shah, from the Federation of Nepali Journalists; Dwarika Kumari Adhikari, Human Rights Officer; and Roshan Pandey, Police Inspector.

Organized by LOLA Nepal Chapter Leader Prasidika Dhungana and new Dang Chapter Leader Roojena Adhikari, the event created a space for open dialogue on gender equality, inspired critical reflection, and set the stage for lasting community impact.

 

LOLA Lima, Peru

LOLA at LibertyCon

LOLA Lima hosted a booth at Student’s for Liberty Perú LibertyCon to introduce the organization to university students interested in liberty. The event featured talks on freedom of the press, free markets, the inefficiency of socialism, and informality in Peru. It was a great opportunity to connect with young people and share LOLA’s mission.

 

LOLA Kampala, Uganda

Menstrual Hygiene Day

LOLA Kampala commemorated Menstrual Hygiene Day by raising awareness on menstrual health and promoting bodily autonomy. Young women learned about the menstrual cycle, hygiene practices, and debunked common myths and taboos. The event created a safe space for participants to share their experiences and encouraged open dialogue to break stigma and promote dignity.

Introducing LOLA & Liberty Drive

LOLA Lucknow hosted a session exploring how liberty empowers women to make their own choices and pursue opportunities without coercion. The discussion focused on individual rights, economic freedom, and voluntary cooperation as solutions to everyday challenges. Participants connected personal empowerment with the broader principles of freedom.

Introduction to Gender Equality and Human Rights

LOLA Kathmandu hosted an educational session focused on gender equality and human rights. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of equal rights for all, regardless of gender, and highlighted how liberty and justice are essential to achieving meaningful social change. Through interactive discussions, participants explored the foundations of human rights, the challenges women face, and the role of individual freedom in promoting gender equity within Nepalese society.

LOLA Lima, Peru

Coffee Time con LOLA

During this relaxed discussion space, participants shared their views on economic freedom. While some appreciated the variety of market options in Peru, others felt overwhelmed by it. The group explored key differences between capitalism and mercantilism, discussed consumer choice, and reflected on whether those choices are genuinely free. The conversation also touched on equality and how economic freedom shapes our everyday lives.

 

LOLA Tarija, Bolivia

Pensar el Derecho desde la Libertad – Class 1 & 2.

In this two-part series, LOLA Bolivia explored classical liberal legal principles with a focus on the individual as a sovereign subject. The first session examined natural law versus legal positivism, emphasizing that law should restrict political power, not reinforce it. Participants reflected on how law can both protect and threaten private property and personal autonomy.

In the second session, the discussion centered on private property as an extension of individual freedom. Participants analyzed how state intervention undermines property rights and disproportionately affects women’s independence. Real-world cases highlighted the consequences of excessive regulation and the importance of legal certainty in a free society.

 

LOLA Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Introducción a LOLA – Part 1 & 2

LOLA Santa Cruz held a two-part workshop to strengthen the chapter’s foundation and plan for future growth. In the first session, participants were introduced to LOLA’s mission, vision, and global principles. They explored local challenges, outlined potential projects, and proposed concrete steps to attract new members.

The second session focused on communication tools and strategic planning. Members discussed how to effectively represent LOLA’s values and expand its presence across the Santa Cruz department.

 

LOLA Buenos Aires, Argentina

Edición Especial: Herederas de la Patria

In collab with Cafecito y Libertad, this event brought together 20 participants to reflect on Argentina’s historical context and current challenges. Participants discussed key political, cultural, and institutional decisions that have shaped the country, questioned the presence of meaningful leadership today, and explored how leaders are built. The conversation also examined the tension between patriotism and individualism in Argentina’s evolving narrative.

 

LOLA Bolivia

Reunión Nacional LOLA Bolivia

LOLA Bolivia held a national meeting to define roles within the country, plan future projects, and invite new members. The discussion focused on overcoming challenges in project planning and outreach. As a strategy to grow the network, it was agreed that each member will refer at least three new women to join LOLA throughout the year.

 

LOLA Buenos Aires, Argentina

LOLA Buenos Aires member Dulcinea Etchebarne co-authored Políticas para el Desarrollo Humano, launched by Fundación Libertad y Progreso.  The book emphasizes the importance of fostering critical thinking from childhood and critiques state-driven ideological education, offering libertarian proposals to improve human development and education in Argentina.

 

LOLA Itapetininga, São Paulo, Brazil

Opening of LOLA Itapetininga

The launch event introduced new members to LOLA, presenting the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The session created space for open dialogue, answered participant questions, and set the stage for future activities that promote liberty and women’s empowerment in the region.

Liberty Workshop in Birgunj Province

LOLA Kathmandu hosted a Liberty Workshop in Birgunj, where participants—especially youth—expressed a strong desire to address social issues and promote liberty within their communities. Recognizing this potential, two new LOLA chapters were launched in the Birgunj area to support local efforts and provide a platform for young leaders to advocate for individual freedom and social change.

Vozes femininas no direito

The event “Female Voices in Law” brought together influential women from the state of Amazonas to share their journeys to success in the legal field. Speakers discussed the challenges they faced, the role of women in the justice system, and how to strengthen female presence in law. The event inspired young professionals to pursue this path with confidence, highlighting the importance of freedom, representation, and female leadership in promoting justice.

 

LOLA Warsaw, Poland

Bitcoin FilmFest 2025

LOLA Warsaw hosted the Bitcoin FilmFest 2025 to promote independent cinema and explore themes of decentralization, financial autonomy, and artistic freedom. The event featured film screenings, a community workshop stage, and discussions on Bitcoin’s role in identity, governance, and cultural change. It concluded with the Golden Rabbits awards and successfully connected creatives, Bitcoin advocates, and liberty-minded thinkers in a vibrant cultural space.

 

LOLA Rio de Janeiro

Conecta Empreendedorismo 2025

The event aimed to connect LOLA with Instituto de Formação de Líderes (IFL-Rio) to attract more women outside the libertarian movement as members and allies. Two panels discussed profit with purpose and how the private sector can positively impact the public sector.

 

LOLA Natal, Rio Grande do Norte

Defesa pessoal do Lola Natal

LOLA Natal hosted a self-defense class to empower women in response to the State’s failure to ensure their safety. The training was paired with a discussion on liberty and female entrepreneurship as paths to empowerment. Participants raised concerns about unisex restrooms, which were taken into account during the session.

Chiya Charcha: Freedom in every sip

Over cups of traditional Nepali tea, participants explored topics such as economic freedom, limited government, and personal autonomy. “Let’s Grow Together” 1 day workshop for Women leading small business

LOLA Chitral and LOLA Peshawar jointly hosted a one-day workshop at the University of Peshawar’s philosophy department, bringing together women small business owners for a day of learning and collaboration.

Interactive activities and group discussions promoted peer learning, and the event concluded with a networking session to build lasting connections among participants.

A training session for LOLA Pakistan: Art of planning event

LOLA Peshawar and LOLA Abbottabad came together to host a dynamic training session focused on grassroots leadership and effective event planning.

The session blended ideological insight with hands-on skills, empowering LOLA leaders to strengthen their local chapters and promote liberty through well-organized, meaningful events.

Book Club Launch

LOLA Colombo hosted its first book club session, creating a space for women to explore and discuss liberty-focused ideas through literature. The session aimed to encourage critical thinking and open dialogue around individual freedom, personal responsibility, limited government, and free markets.

LOLA Peshawar & Karachi, Pakistan

Online Meet-up

LOLA Peshawar and LOLA Karachi hosted a joint online meet-up to introduce potential team members and share LOLA’s mission of empowering women through education and leadership. Discussions covered economic theories, political systems, and the role of entrepreneurship in advancing women’s empowerment. Participants emphasized the need for supportive spaces where women can thrive and contribute equally to society.

 

LOLA Wichita, KS

Bullets and Brunch

This event was designed to help women with little to no experience with firearms feel confident and comfortable getting started. Through a safe, welcoming environment, participants were introduced to the basics of firearm safety and handling. The event encouraged responsible gun ownership while empowering women to take charge of their personal safety and rights.

 

LOLA Lucknow, India

Free to Choose: A Community Dialogue on Economic and Personal Freedom

Participants engaged in interactive discussions on market-based solutions to issues like education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. Real-life stories from local women entrepreneurs illustrated the benefits of less government interference. The event also served as a space to connect with like-minded women committed to liberty and self-empowerment.

LOLA Guatemala, Guatemala

An introduction to LOLA Guatemala: Information Session

LOLA Guatemala hosted an info session to welcome new applicants for the 2025 volunteer program. The event introduced LOLA as part of the global Ladies of Liberty Alliance, with a mission to build a strong network of women defending freedom.

Attendees learned about the chapter’s core values and were introduced to its four work teams: Communication, Planning, Administration & Management, and Alliances. The session ended with an open Q&A to engage new volunteers and encourage collaboration.

LOLA Butwal, Nepal

Beyond Silence: Combating Child Sexual Harassment and Advocating for Women’s Rights

LOLA Butwal hosted a powerful session at Nayagaun Secondary School with over 95 students to raise awareness about sexual harassment, gender equality, and women’s rights. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and legal education based on Nepalese law, the event empowered adolescent girls and boys to speak up, seek help, and understand their rights.

“Know Your Rights: Child Safety, Liberty, and Respecting Boundaries”

LOLA Butwal hosted a session for 9th and 10th graders on child rights, bodily autonomy, and the power of their voices. Students learned about good touch vs. bad touch, child labor, and the importance of speaking up. The event empowered both girls and boys to understand and exercise their rights, promoting liberty and personal safety from a young age.

Feminism and Peace

The event explored the connection between feminism and peace, emphasizing how liberty and justice are essential to building a more harmonious society. The LOLA Kandy networking event brought together local women to identify key opportunities for advancing liberty in the region. By addressing barriers to women’s freedom. The chapter laid the groundwork for future programs that promote gender equality and individual rights.

With a focus on collaboration, open dialogue, and strategic planning, the event fostered a shared vision for empowering women in Kandy to assert their choices and shape a more informed, free, and equitable society from the grassroots level.

Understanding My Emotional Code; Healing, Power and the Female Heart

Through practices like shadow work, intentional movement, and the Five R’s (Recognize, Reframe, Release, Relax, Reflect), participants explored how emotional awareness can break cycles of trauma and silence.

The event created a safe space for women to challenge cultural norms, reclaim their emotional voices, and build resilience. By prioritizing self-knowledge and healing, LOLA Colombo advanced the principles of liberty, empowering women to live more freely and intentionally within their communities.

LOLA intro to college students

LOLA Manila hosted an introductory session on libertarian principles for college students. While the mixed-gender setting and midday heat made the group initially passive, energy picked up during a fun and engaging trivia quiz. The interactive format helped spark curiosity and enthusiasm for LOLA’s mission, leaving students excited for future initiatives.

LOLA Wichita, KS

LPMO Convention

At the Libertarian Party of Missouri Convention, LOLA Wichita engaged in chapter recruitment and regional expansion efforts. The team secured two new sign-ups in St. Louis and  in Kansas City. They also connected with the existing KC chapter leader to encourage more activity.

Additional wins included a podcast interview to promote LOLA’s mission and the planning of a college visit for the fall. This event marked a strong step toward strengthening LOLA’s presence in Missouri through local leadership and outreach.

LOLA Butwal chapter held a planning meeting for an upcoming event focused on financial entrepreneurship for female law students. The goal is to promote financial independence through education, inspiration, and practical tools.

The team finalized key logistics, including confirming a speaker, coordinating with the campus chief, selecting the venue, and organizing event gifts. This initiative aims to empower future women leaders in law with the confidence and resources to pursue economic freedom.

As part of LOLA’s regional events in Brazil, led an engaging workshop titled Introduction to Classical Liberalism: History, Thinkers, and Ideas. Participants explored the core principles of liberalism, what it means to be a libertarian, and the intellectual foundations of the movement.

The session highlighted key liberal thinkers, from John Locke to Ludwig von Mises, and traced the evolution of ideas such as individual liberty, limited government, private property, and free markets. In collaboration with Students For Liberty, LOLA hosted a community picnic in Fonseca, La Guajira, creating a welcoming space for open dialogue around the question: “How are we truly free?” The event encouraged critical thinking about personal freedom, voluntary action, and self-determination. With local participants, it successfully engaged youth and women in conversations about applying the values of liberty in everyday life.

At the annual Young Americans for Liberty conference, LOLA Washington D.C. leader Cait Dexter led a high-impact outreach effort that gave a major boost to our network. Cumbre Espíritu Empresarial

On April 23–24, LOLA Colombia supported the Espíritu Empresarial Summit as a logistical partner. Organized by the Instituto de Ciencia Política with support from Templeton World Charity Foundation, Foro de Presidentes, Legacy Network, and CESA, the summit gathered entrepreneurs, executives, and thought leaders to promote economic freedom and value creation in Colombia.

A major highlight was the launch of L3P, a vision to move beyond state overreach by empowering individual potential and driving sustainable development. Panels covered deregulation, competitiveness, finance, AI in business, and strategies for growth (sparking high-level) debate on the business sector’s role in Colombia’s future.

DelVal Day at Delaware Valley University

LOLA Pennsylvania joined DelVal Day at Delaware Valley University to share our mission and connect with students. LOLA Pará gathered 25 women for a powerful space to reflect on International Women’s Day and the ongoing fight for financial freedom, political voice, and personal development.

The conversation explored the role of women in society, the lack of effective public policies to combat domestic violence, and the challenges and opportunities women face in the workforce. LOLA speakers inspired attendees to take action and embrace liberty as the foundation for real empowerment and change.

Academia de Liderazgo Femenino, Empoderamiento y Libertad: Empoderamiento Femenino como herramienta de Impacto Comunitario

LOLA Bolívar led a dynamic multi-session program under the Academia de Liderazgo Femenino, Empoderamiento y Libertad (ALFE), engaging over 50 women across Latin America. The sessions covered financial education, entrepreneurship, and digital security, equipping participants with practical tools for personal and economic empowerment.

Highlights included a financial literacy workshop on savings, investment, and economic self-determination, and a digital security training for activists to safeguard online privacy and prevent fraud.

The program also featured at Liberty Ventures, EmpoderaME, reinforcing the mission to strengthen women’s leadership and community impact through freedom-centered solutions.
