LOLA JOINVILLE MEETING: HIGH EMOTIONAL PERFORMANCE
LOLA Joinville, Santa Catarina hosted an insightful event focused on emotional intelligence, aiming to deepen participants’ understanding of this essential skill and its practical application in daily life. The meeting explored key concepts of emotional intelligence, highlighting its significance in personal and professional relationships. ISLAM & LIBERTY OF WOMEN
LOLA South Florida, in collaboration with LOLA Peshawar, Pakistan, hosted a discussion on women’s rights in Islam, emphasizing the Quran’s pro-liberty stance for women. The conversation explored how Islamic principles have been misapplied by governments to restrict women’s rights and why many Muslim women embrace libertarianism based on Quranic examples. Participants examined key topics such as education, property rights, and historical female figures in Islamic society. Governance models in countries like Saudi Arabia and Tunisia were analyzed, highlighting the role of cultural contexts in shaping interpretations of Islamic principles. The discussion also addressed traditional expectations, financial dynamics in families, and variations in women’s attire across cultures. Challenges related to sectarian divisions and the political misuse of Islam were discussed, along with potential solutions and community initiatives aimed at promoting women’s rights and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

WEAR YOUR FREEDOM: TOTE BAG CUSTOM PAINTING AS FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
LOLA Jakarta hosted an interactive event focused on self-expression and challenging societal expectations for women in Indonesia. The event provided a creative space where participants illustrated their true selves by painting tote bags that reflected their personal identities beyond external appearances. Through this artistic challenge, attendees shared their personal experiences, discussed the pressures of societal expectations, and explained the meaning behind their artwork. The event fostered an open and insightful conversation about the complexities of identity and self-perception, empowering women to embrace their individuality and challenge limiting norms.

LOLA SRI LANKA PROJECT PLANS 2025
LOLA Colombo held a strategic planning session to outline key initiatives for 2025, including workshops, school outreach programs, a book club, and social media campaigns. Members reflected on 2024’s successes and challenges while brainstorming ways to enhance engagement. The discussion also addressed Sri Lanka’s political and economic climate, including parliamentary controversies, the IMF bailout program, rising costs, and youth migration. Additionally, concerns about workplace discrimination, particularly in the legal sector, were raised. The session provided valuable insights that will shape LOLA Colombo’s future efforts in advocating for women’s empowerment and liberty.

UNVEILING INEQUALITY: WOMEN’S RESILIENCE IN THE CORPORATE WORLD
LOLA Abbottabad hosted an event to introduce the concept of liberty, highlight LOLA’s mission, and address gender disparities in the corporate and educational sectors. The discussion emphasized the challenges women face, including wage gaps, workplace bias, and exclusion from leadership and networking opportunities. Speaker Hareem Usman shared personal strategies for overcoming these obstacles, such as setting firm boundaries, advocating for oneself, and fostering male allies in leadership. LOLA Dhaka hosted a meeting which reflected on the chapter’s 2024 accomplishments, including winning the highest event organizing chapter award globally. Looking ahead, the team planned for the next 90 days, focusing on potential events and key issue areas to address. With 12 attendees, the discussion centered on strengthening the chapter’s impact and continuing to empower women while advocating for liberty.

WOMEN & LIBERTY
LOLA South Florida hosted a meeting focused on establishing lower-level activism goals for 2025, specifically addressing the challenges women face in terms of liberty both in the U.S. and globally. A key point discussed was how certain laws target women by restricting their access to licensure and entrepreneurial opportunities. Additionally, the consequences of forced maternity leave were highlighted as a major issue impacting women’s freedom and autonomy. The conversation aimed to outline strategic actions to support women’s rights and advocate for greater liberty.

POLITICA CON ROSTRO DE MUJER: DIPUTADA LUISA NAYAR
LOLA Santa Cruz hosted 15 active attendees, 10 of whom were women interested in the topic. The discussion focused on the challenges women face in male-dominated spaces, particularly in politics. Attendees shared their thoughts on the barriers and difficulties women encounter while trying to navigate and succeed in these environments.

LOLA NEW YEAR & CHANUKA EVENT WITH THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS.
LOLA Tel Aviv’s discussion focused on setting goals for the upcoming year and analyzing relevant Israeli government policies. A key priority for the group is advocating for greater freedom to bear arms in Israel, particularly for women, to enhance personal security and empowerment.
LOLA KATHMANDU, NEPAL
MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AWARENESS AND REUSABLE PAD MAKING TRAINING
The event hosted by LOLA Kathmandu focused on raising awareness about menstrual hygiene in Humla, a remote region of Nepal, and provided training on making reusable pads to combat period poverty. Attendees discussed the harmful practice of forcing women to stay in cowsheds during menstruation and urged the local government to implement policies ensuring safe menstrual hygiene and penalties for those enforcing this practice. The importance of regular community-based medical screenings for early cervical cancer detection was also emphasized.

LOLA SOCIAL HOUR: CITIZEN’S INAUGURAL SUPPORT FOR VENEZUELANS
LOLA Ottawa organized an event to raise awareness about the rigged elections in Venezuela and the imprisonment of María Oropeza while showing support for Venezuelans in Canada’s capital. The discussion also examined political instability in both Venezuela and Canada, highlighting government overreach and the impact of left-wing governance in both countries.

WOMEN IN LIBERTY: BUILDING A MOVEMENT
LOLA Chittagong successfully launched its chapter with the Women in Liberty: Building a Movement seminar in collaboration with Students For Liberty Bangladesh. The event featured keynote speaker Revana Sharfuddin, who discussed youth leadership in the liberty movement, alongside interactive workshops on confidence-building and leadership. Participants, including students, professionals, and activists, engaged in discussions on labor regulations, personal responsibility, and career paths in the liberty space. A membership drive encouraged attendees to join LOLA’s global network for empowering women in advocating for freedom. The event set the foundation for impactful activism and community-building in Bangladesh.
