Mistreatment of politics at educational institutions in Bangladesh

LOLA Dhaka, Bangladesh hosted an event addressing the misuse of politics in educational institutions, shedding light on how student spaces were exploited for political control. The discussion focused on the overthrown Hasina regime’s tactics, where student wings of the ruling party dominated campuses, using intimidation, harassment, and violence to suppress dissent. Universities and dormitories became political strongholds, forcing students to align with the regime or face severe consequences. With the fall of the regime, participants reflected on the restoration of academic freedom and the need to keep educational institutions free from political coercion. The event also served as a platform for recruiting new members committed to safeguarding student rights and fostering intellectual discourse.

Luta pela liberdade em Moçambique

Concerns were also raised about Portugal’s presence at Mozambique’s presidential ceremony despite doubts over election results and ongoing rights violations. The event aimed to amplify awareness and advocate for true democratic change in Mozambique.

LOLA Colombo, Sri Lanka hosted “Vision Board 2025”, an empowering event focused on helping liberty-loving women set and achieve their goals for the year ahead. Venezuela: Libre al fin?

LOLA Montevideo, Uruguay

LILA Reunion, first meeting of the year

LOLA Montevideo, Uruguay held the LILA Reunion, marking the first meeting of the year to regroup after the holidays and strategize for 2025. The gathering focused on LOLA’s growth in Uruguay, with discussions centered on expanding the organization through the establishment of three additional chapters in the eastern, western, northern, and southern regions of the country. Over a virtual coffee, team members exchanged ideas on LILA’s objectives for the year and explored opportunities for regional collaboration to enhance LOLA’s impact and reach across Uruguay. LOLA Rio de Janeiro hosted its inaugural event as an immersion for the women of Rio, aiming to introduce the ideas of freedom to those in the interior of the state. This event also marked the launch of the new Nova Friburgo chapter. The objectives were successfully achieved, with discussions covering economic, political, and individual rights issues, as well as personal and professional development. Participants explored the challenges of corruption and bureaucracy faced by entrepreneurs. The LOLAS visited women-led businesses, including a lingerie manufacturer, a beer producer, and a specialized obstetric care clinic. Libertycon 2025 – BlockChan y Criptomonedas

LOLA Venezuela organized an event to bring together 150 young people interested in economic decentralization, foster networking between attendees and speakers, and establish LOLA as a key advocate for liberty in Venezuela. Discussions covered digital freedom, Bitcoin and blockchain history, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized governance. Speakers explored blockchain applications in finance, smart contracts, Web3, and the metaverse, highlighting their potential to enhance privacy, security, and transparency. Liber -Tea Party

LOLA organized an event where members wrote letters to their future selves, reflecting on what liberty means to them as women. At the end of the semester, they will revisit these letters to explore how their perspectives have evolved. Discussions covered the importance of the Second Amendment and the right to self-protection. Attendees also explored the diverse expressions of liberty, emphasizing that both career-driven paths and stay-at-home roles are equally valuable choices for women
