Chapter Program Updates – November 2025

This November, our chapter leaders hosted 53 events across 15 countries. They were out there creating spaces to learn, connect, and ask the hard questions about freedom, leadership, and community.

Some events brought small groups together for reflection, conversation, and personal growth, while others gathered larger networks of activists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers to exchange ideas and plan for the future. Each gathering reflected the passion and vision of the leader behind it.

LOLA Natal, Brazil

Solidary Children’s Day Celebration

LOLA Natal celebrated Children’s Day in partnership with a local institution that supports low-income women who need childcare while they work — a mission closely aligned with LOLA’s focus on opportunity and empowerment. The event created space for connection, support, and community building, and it resulted in three new members joining the chapter.

LOLA Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Freedom for All

LOLA Rio de Janeiro hosted the Freedom for All lecture developed by the chapter’s working group, focusing on individual and financial freedom. The discussion explored self-responsibility, critical thinking, and how free markets and entrepreneurship can transform women’s lives. Participants reflected on everyday choices that build autonomy and shared powerful stories of resilience, growth, and the pursuit of a freer future.

LOLA Recife, Brazil

Welcoming the new Co-Leader
LOLA Recife at Mardi Gras.

This November, LOLA Recife hosted two meaningful gatherings to strengthen the chapter’s community and leadership. The first was a relaxed Mardi Gras–style meetup, designed as a welcoming space for members and supporters to connect, share ideas, and deepen their local network. It was a lively reminder of the power of voluntary association and the kind of community that forms when people come together freely.

The chapter also held a leadership alignment meeting to welcome its new co-leader, Mariana Felinto, and connect her more closely with LOLA’s national and global mission. Through networking, experience-sharing, and thoughtful conversation, the meeting supported Mariana in building a stronger understanding of LOLA’s values and goals, leaving her feeling prepared to lead local initiatives with confidence and a broader strategic vision.

Happy Hour

LOLA Distrito Federal hosted a relaxed happy hour where participants talked about the organization’s work and the role of women at COP30. The conversation highlighted the importance of women’s leadership in global discussions on freedom, sustainability, and the future of public policy.

 Children’s Month Social Action

LOLA Goiás organized a Children’s Month social action focused on ensuring rights guaranteed by law — especially the right to leisure and play. The chapter introduced the basics of the Child and Adolescent Statute and shared a bit of youthful freedom with the kids by gifting toys, creating a joyful and meaningful moment centered on dignity, rights, and opportunity.

Let’s Look Differently, Let’s Think Together

LOLA La Paz hosted a joint event with LOLA Peru, “Let’s Look Differently, Let’s Think Together,” creating an open space for dialogue on freedom, identity, and the social challenges facing Latin American communities. Through the screening of Blood of the Condor, participants explored how stories from the past invite us to think critically about the present. The gathering encouraged critical thinking and active conversation among women and young people about the values of liberty, autonomy, and individual responsibility in contemporary society.

Runoff or Identity Battle? Voting Between the Ethnic and the Political in Bolivia

This Ideas Tea explored how ethnic identity and group narratives influence voting in Bolivia, encouraging participants to question dominant political frames and reflect on the importance of individual freedom in democratic choices. Through open dialogue, attendees strengthened their understanding of autonomy, personal responsibility, and liberty as core elements of authentic democratic participation.

NGOs in Advancing Women’s Rights

The chapter highlighted the vital role NGOs play in empowering women from marginalized communities, expanding access to education, economic opportunity, and civic participation. Through real examples of women whose lives were transformed by grassroots initiatives, the event encouraged leadership, awareness, and a deeper understanding of how civil society drives progress for women.

LOLA Kathmandu, Nepal

Gen Z and the Future of Liberty in Nepal: From Protest to Policy

LOLA Kathmandu hosted a powerful discussion in Chitwan on how Nepal’s Gen Z is reshaping the country’s political landscape. Led by Chapter Leader Prasidika Dhungana and Co-Leader Nitisha Ban, the event featured Advocate Sarita Tiwari and Engineer Sagar Karki, who explored whether the Gen Z movement was a genuine uprising or a social-media trend — concluding it was a real, nationwide call for freedom and accountability.

Panelists agreed that liberty in Nepal is stronger than ever, with young people speaking boldly, questioning authority, and demanding reform. The conversation touched on constitutional challenges, the rise of Nepal’s first female Prime Minister, and the growing influence of youth leadership in shaping policy.

LOLA Peshawar, Pakistan

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Vision to Reality

LOLA Peshawar hosted an in-person workshop with Dr. Harram Syed, a specialist in women’s entrepreneurship, to help participants turn ideas into real ventures. Dr. Harram shared practical business examples, encouraged young women to launch their own projects, and offered guidance to anyone ready to start. The session focused on building an entrepreneurial mindset — creativity, problem-solving, and resilience — while introducing financial basics, market research, and strategic planning. Through open discussion and networking, participants left inspired to lead, take initiative, and confidently turn their vision into reality.

Vision Board Workshop

As the chapter’s first official meeting, the workshop aimed to welcome new members and create a fun, creative space where liberty values met arts and crafts. Participants built vision boards while connecting over shared goals, leaving the event energized and with at least one new member joining the chapter.

LOLA Itahari, Nepal

Circle of Thoughts

LOLA Itahari hosted an open circle where participants reflected on social challenges affecting women and communities outside Kathmandu Valley — from unequal access to education and jobs to persistent gender biases. The group shared personal experiences, discussed solutions such as awareness initiatives and community support, and emphasized how digital platforms can expand opportunity and empowerment. The conversation encouraged critical thinking, collective learning, and a stronger commitment to advancing equality and liberty at the local level.

 

LOLA Toronto, Canada

Democracy Forum 2025

The session examined how Venezuela’s deep institutional collapse has enabled the rise of criminal and extremist networks. With some of the world’s weakest scores in state legitimacy, security, and corruption, the country has become a hub for illicit economies such as narcotrafficking, illegal mining, and fuel smuggling. The discussion highlighted how the erosion of the rule of law and the expansion of non-state armed groups threaten governance, stability, and human rights across the region.

LOLA’s Pool Party

The pool party created a relaxed space for Lolas to connect, talk about freedom, and strengthen their community. Hosted at a member’s home, the gathering included a barbecue, swimming, ice cream, and great conversations. In honor of Women’s Entrepreneurship Week, two members showcased their businesses — one with makeup and another with jewelry — encouraging support for women entrepreneurs in the network

Limits on Parliamentary Oversight

The chapter participated in a panel discussion on the limitations placed on parliamentary oversight, highlighting the growing lack of freedom to audit public accounts. The conversation addressed recent judicial decisions that restrict the ability to monitor government spending and public services, emphasizing how these constraints undermine transparency and curtail essential democratic freedoms.

Sound Bath & After-Party with LOLA ATX

LOLA Austin hosted a weeknight sound bath followed by an after-party to encourage higher member turnout and make the gathering more accessible for women living in South Austin.

The event created a supportive environment for women to share experiences, care for their physical and emotional well-being, and heal together. It encouraged participants to speak up, uplift one another, and feel empowered to become health advocates within their communities.

Online Book Discussion

LOLA Brazil hosted an online discussion on Per Bylund’s book How to Think About the Economy: A Primer, in partnership with the Mises Institute. The session featured Professor Fernando D’Andrea — a former student of Per Bylund and the translator of the book into Portuguese — who guided participants through key economic concepts and encouraged a clear, accessible understanding of how markets work.

Tea Afternoon

LOLA Ita hosted a tea afternoon to plan the chapter’s upcoming activities and strengthen coordination among members. Farroupilha Interdisciplinary Symposium

LOLA Santa Maria joined the Interdisciplinary Farroupilha Symposium to introduce the chapter to new women in the community. As a newly opened chapter, the goal was to present our mission, connect with at least 20 participants, and encourage 10 of them to join as members. Freedom and Democracy Forum in Vitória

 

LOLA Espírito Santo secured a complimentary stand at the Fórum Liberdade e Democracia in Vitória—an opportunity that is typically paid, but was made possible through strategic negotiation. Local Lolas attended the forum with free tickets and represented LOLA at the stand, engaging with participants, collecting signatures, and introducing the organization to new women.Participation in the forum increased LOLA’s visibility, expanded awareness of our mission, and strengthened our growing presence in Espírito Santo.

Creative writing project: words that transform

Members discussed ways to promote liberty-based ideas during the upcoming election season across parties and to recruit new, young liberal women into LOLA. The chapter also planned to attend a Tel Aviv University event on student activism to introduce LOLA and liberty values to the next generation.

LOLA Santa Cruz, Bolivia attended an international forum named “End of Socialism in Bolivia”? The event spotlighted Bolivia’s political and economic reality after more than 15 years under one ruling party, sharing this context with an international audience. It brought in perspectives from other countries and experts to spark critical dialogue on liberty, democracy, and the economy. With over 25 attendees, it strengthened a regional community committed to freedom-centered solutions.

First session of the Adam Smith book club

LOLA Santa Cruz, Bolivia organized the first meeting of its reading club named “First session of the Adam Smith book club.” The session focused on discussing The Wealth of Nations and creating a space for deep analysis and exchange of ideas. Members explored Adam Smith’s economic foundations, especially the role of individual interest in how markets function. The event strengthened understanding of classical economic thought within the chapter.

LOLA Santa Cruz, Bolivia organized a learning session named “John Galt School – Sesión 8.” The chapter introduced students to the foundations of individualism through Ayn Rand’s Anthem, contrasting it with collectivist societies. Participants engaged in critical discussion about freedom, identity, and life under authoritarianism, linking the text to real-world social and political structures. The session also fostered a respectful, collaborative space for shared reflections and debate.

LOLA Santa Cruz, Bolivia organized a full-day training event named “LOLA Skill Lab.” With around 25 attendees, the chapter delivered hands-on workshops on advocacy and media strategies, communication and public speaking, values and identity alignment with LOLA, and leadership self-assessment. The event equipped members with practical tools to grow their confidence, autonomy, and capacity to lead. It also strengthened collaboration and bonds across chapters, leaving participants more united and motivated to expand impact in their communities.

LOLA Guanajuato, Mexico organized a holiday market named “Christmas Bazaar.” The event created a space for women entrepreneurs to exchange and promote their products while getting to know LOLA and its mission. The chapter also requested support to print stickers and a banner for upcoming events to strengthen visibility. Overall, it combined community-building, entrepreneurship, and outreach to new women.

Tax-free draft beer

LOLA Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais organized a relaxed meetup named “Tax-free draft beer”. The event used an informal setting to introduce liberty ideas, especially highlighting how excessive taxes affect even everyday life. Members discussed different forms of government and how each relates to freedom, including examples from Brazil’s own political history. Overall, it was a light, engaging way to connect and reflect on liberty in practice.

LOLA Lima, Peru organized a discussion event named “Freedom in a Peruvian style.” The chapter analyzed Peru’s social and political landscape ahead of the presidential and congressional elections. Participants explored how the idea of liberty is understood within Peru’s sociocultural context and economic reality. The conversation helped clarify local challenges and opportunities for advancing freedom-based ideas.

LOLA Warsaw, Poland organized a joint community event named “Pub Quiz LOLA x SFL.” The chapter used a fun, informal quiz format to strengthen the local pro-liberty community and make classical liberal ideas—like free markets, individual rights, and limited government—more accessible. Webinar: History of Feminism in Paraguay

LOLA Ita, Paraguay organized an online session named “Webinar: History of Feminism in Paraguay.” The event recognized the legacy of feminist women who shaped Paraguay’s history and encouraged participants to analyze each stage with their own critical perspective. Attendees highlighted the value of remembering past female leaders and expressed interest in continuing these spaces for deeper conversation on feminism. Overall, the webinar strengthened historical awareness and community reflection.

LOLA Montevideo, Uruguay

De-dollarization of the Uruguayan economy

LOLA Montevideo, Uruguay organized a discussion event named “De-dollarization of the Uruguayan Economy.” The chapter examined how reducing dollar reliance could affect financial stability and the behavior of consumers and businesses. Participants noted the potential benefits for monetary autonomy, but also the risks if confidence in the Uruguayan peso is weak. The conversation emphasized that any transition would require fiscal credibility, sustained low inflation, and clear rules.

LOLA Session with Project Arizona on From Volunteer to Visionary Leader

LOLA organized a leadership session named “LOLA Session with Project Arizona: From Volunteer to Visionary Leader.” The event supported volunteers’ personal and professional growth by helping them identify their leadership styles, strengths, and pathways for deeper impact in the liberty movement. Led through guided reflection by Ichchha as a Project Arizona alum and LOLA leader, participants connected their skills to real opportunities for future involvement. An informal after-session meetup further strengthened community bonds and confidence among students and Project Arizona attendees.

LOLA Entrepreneurs’ Meetup

LOLA Recife, Pernambuco organized a gathering named “Lola Entrepreneurs Meetup” The event created a welcoming space for women to connect through shared experiences of entrepreneurship, autonomy, and purpose. Even without scheduled speakers, it became a meaningful roundtable where participants exchanged challenges and lessons, highlighting how freedom becomes action through enterprise. A curated bazar of independent brands reinforced entrepreneurship as a powerful expression of individual liberty.
