Chapter Program Updates – December 2025

1050
09 Jan

Even during the holiday season, our chapter leaders kept the spirit alive, organizing 31 events across our regions. From festive fun to inspiring launches, December was full of connection, creativity, and celebration.

Some chapters went ice skating and shared laughs over Secret Santa exchanges, while others reflected on the year and set intentions for the next. Highlights included LOLA Brazil’s book launch, sparking conversation and inspiration among local communities.

And here’s a closer look at what our regions did to close the year.

LOLA BRAZIL

Our team from Brazil, recently recognized as the 2025 Regional Team of the Year, closed out the year with an incredible series of events, from coffee meetings and happy hours to online workshops and book launches. They brought LOLA members together to reflect on the year, celebrate achievements, and strengthen connections, while inspiring female leadership and youth engagement in political and social change. Highlights included launching the book Entre Nós e a Liberdade (Between Us and Freedom), hosting workshops on productivity, self-esteem, and critical thinking, and fostering dialogue on liberty, personal growth, and community impact. Despite challenges like heavy rain and logistical setbacks, the team created meaningful moments that reinforced empowerment, collaboration, and the shared pursuit of liberty.

LOLA NORTH AMERICA

In North America, the year closed with a mix of reflection, learning, and community. Members celebrated the year and set goals during the final chapter leaders call, enjoyed social activities like ice skating and PowerPoint Night, and participated in a holiday donation event. Civic engagement workshops explored public comment, protest safety, and discussions on government, while other sessions introduced young women to LOLA, exploring personal freedom, self‑care, and breaking taboos. One event highlighted global advocacy for liberty, drawing inspiration from Nobel laureate María Corina Machado.

LOLA AFRICA

Our team in Africa had an active end to the year, organizing several impactful events that combined learning, connection, and expansion. In Nigeria, LOLA partnered on a “Women Without Woes” conference, where narratives were challenged, solutions co-created, and new members welcomed. A philosophy-focused book discussion on The Problems of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell cultivated critical thinking, intellectual independence, and an understanding of the link between philosophy and liberty. Meanwhile, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the official launch of the LOLA chapter introduced attendees to the organization and brought together a group of women committed to engaging in LOLA’s mission.
