This August, LOLA hosted 29 impactful events across 15 countries, demonstrating once again that LOLA leaders are at the forefront of freedom advocacy worldwide. 🌍🔥

Our network continues to build strong communities rooted in courage, connection, and conviction, and spark conversations about political systems, personal freedom, and leadership.

LOLA Yaoundé, Cameroon

Community awareness and prevention of rape

Our Yaoundé chapter led a powerful campaign in Limbe municipality to raise awareness and prevent rape, reaching over 6,000 women. The initiative focused on educating communities in churches, schools, and markets about their rights, encouraging survivors to speak out, and ensuring abusers face justice. Participants also received menstrual hygiene kits, and women who embraced the mission were recognized for their commitment.

LOLA Colombia

Liberty Camp Colombia

LOLA members gathered at the Liberty Camp hosted by the Language of Liberty Institute to strengthen their understanding of liberty. The LOLA workshop Freedom Without Permission emphasized individual liberty as a natural right, drawing on the ideas of Mises, Rothbard, Hayek, and Rand. Participants reflected on how to live freely without waiting for external approval and left empowered to act on their vision of freedom.

LOLA Peru

Liberty Camp Peru

LOLA Peru participated in Liberty Camp Perú, hosted by The Language of Liberty Institute, providing participants with an immersive introduction to the history of classical liberal thought through the Founding Fathers. The session included a presentation on liberal feminism, highlighting its core principles, as well as an overview of LOLA as an international organization promoting liberty and women’s leadership.

LOLA Natal, Rio Grande do Norte

Book Club Discussion

Natal chapter launched its book club with a discussion that set the stage for future readings. Participants selected Against All Censorship by Gustavo Maultasch as their first book and also reflected on current events in Brazil, including U.S. sanctions and the application of the Magnitsky Act.

Bring It On: The Musical with LOLA ATX

Austin chapter hosted a lively social gathering with a picnic and a live performance of Bring It On: The Musical. The event created a fun space for connection while encouraging new members to join and engage with the chapter.

Women in Leadership and Politics

Windhoek chapter hosted a discussion on women in leadership and politics, bringing together twelve women to explore strategies for increasing female political participation. The conversation highlighted barriers to empowerment, inspiring case studies such as Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Sahle-Work Zewde, and practical approaches like mentorship, leadership training, and challenging stereotypes.

LOLA Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Winter Clothing Drive

Poços de Caldas chapter hosted a Winter Clothing Drive, organizing a community festival with traditional foods while collecting women’s clothing for a local shelter. To encourage participation, attendees received book vouchers and also joined a discussion of Imperfeitos and how liberal ideas support LGBT freedom. The event combined celebration, solidarity, and the principles of liberty to serve those most in need.

Jujuy chapter hosted a session on Argentina’s new single-paper ballot voting system, exploring its impact on civic participation. Discussion on Women, Work, and Economic Freedom

Kathmandu chapter hosted a discussion on women, work, and economic freedom. LOLA Social in Prague with LOLA Poland

LOLA Dhaka hosted a LOLA Social in Prague in collaboration with LOLA Poland. Lolas at the table: Dinner with Rafaela Rezende

Recife chapter reflected on the fragility of liberty through the story of María Oropeza, a LOLA leader imprisoned in Venezuela for opposing the regime. Participants compared global contexts of freedom, recognizing that while some countries offer broad opportunities, others criminalize even basic gatherings. The discussion underscored the need to remain vigilant in defending individual liberty, free markets, limited government, and women’s empowerment.

Mastering Speech: Communication and Public Speaking

The goal of this regional LOLA Brazil event was to teach LOLA leaders and members the essential skills for clear, effective communication and public speaking. Participants received practical guidance on crafting messages with clarity and confidence, as well as tips for presenting themselves effectively in front of audiences.

The workshop emphasized that strong communication requires practice and that personal image also contributes to how messages are received. Attendees left with tools to speak confidently and persuasively, both in public settings and in their professional and personal lives.

State policy network annual meeting

LOLA leaders connected with potential chapter leaders and explored partnership opportunities with other organizations. Iza represented LOLA in discussions with donors, while several organizations expressed interest in collaborating with LOLA. The event offered an excellent opportunity to expand the network, build relationships, and strengthen LOLA’s presence in the U.S.

Natal chapter hosted a special lecture on public speaking and argumentation for women, focusing on strengthening communication skills and confidence. The session was a great success—interactive, empowering, and deeply appreciated by all members. It gave our LOLAs valuable tools to express themselves with confidence in both personal and professional spaces.
