📍 Nairobi, Kenya, July 31–August 1, 2025
The Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA) was proud to be an active participant in the Africa Liberty Forum 2025, hosted by Atlas Network in Nairobi, Kenya. Representing LOLA, our Africa Regional Leaders, Mary Joyce Takali and Lynet Balukho, led conversations on the urgent need for more women in the libertarian movement and showcased how LOLA is addressing this challenge through leadership development, mentorship, and a strong global community.
Over the two-day forum, participants explored the future of liberty in Africa through Cornerstone Talks, practical case studies, and dynamic breakout sessions. Topics included effective training strategies, economic freedom as a driver of international policy, African movements for freedom, property rights, overcoming illiberalism, regional trade opportunities, democratic challenges, Bitcoin as a tool for freedom, and best practices for youth engagement. The event offered a powerful platform for learning, sharing strategies, and connecting with liberty advocates across the continent, reinforcing LOLA’s mission to amplify women’s leadership and expand our global sisterhood.
We had a strong presence at the LOLA booth, where Mary Joyce Takali and Lynet Balukho met with supporters of freedom from across Africa and beyond. Together, they highlighted the importance of women’s leadership in advancing freedom and shared LOLA’s mission of empowering female voices through training, mentorship, and community.
Also, Mary Joyce Takali, Africa Regional Leader, was awarded a scholarship to participate in the prestigious Atlas Network Academy Marketing and Communications (MARCOM 360) training program. This highly competitive program combined online learning with intensive in-person sessions in Nairobi, Kenya, equipping participants with advanced skills in strategic communication, storytelling, and media engagement for nonprofit initiatives.
Our participation at the Africa Liberty Forum 2025 marked a significant step in advancing women’s leadership within the liberty movement and strengthening LOLA’s presence across the continent.
The forum provided a powerful space to share ideas, exchange strategies, and connect with advocates of liberty from across the continent. It was an inspiring opportunity to amplify women’s leadership in Africa, strengthen our presence in the region, and continue expanding our global sisterhood.
We are grateful to Atlas Network for their continued support in empowering female leaders and fostering a global community committed to individual freedom and impactful change.
