Nena Whitfield

President

Nena Bartlett Whitfield is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to Washington, DC upon completing her Master’s program in Diplomacy from Norwich University in Vermont in 2007. She has worked at the Cato Institute and has been involved with a number of political campaigns, most recently as assistant campaign manager for then-junior Senator Rand Paul. After the 2010 elections, Nena joined Sen. Paul in his Washington, DC office as a Legislative Aide on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. In 2013, Nena left Capitol Hill to work with the Ladies of Liberty Alliance as their first full-time Executive Director. Nena is active in her community as a founding member and former Treasurer of the DC Liberty Toastmasters, Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of DC, and the former Vice President and Treasurer of the Norwich Alumni DC Chapter.

Holly Jean Soto

Director of Operations

Holly Jean, a native New Yorker, was introduced to libertarian and free market ideas as a teenager taking her first Economics class at Valencia College. After falling in love with economics and liberty, she went on to obtain her B.S. in Economics at George Mason University under the most free-market oriented faculty in the world. Holly Jean has worked for liberty-minded organizations such as the Mercatus Center and Institute for Humane Studies and has been with LOLA for the past 6 years where she has dedicated herself to supporting libertarian women across the globe. Holly Jean is an Economist and has an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Harvard University.

 

Izabela Patriota

Director of Development

Izabela is a member of the leadership team of LOLA Brazil and is the Director of Development. She is a Ph.D in Law and Political Economy from the University of São Paulo. She is a Frédéric Bastiat Fellow with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. While working as a researcher, she began to question her support of heavy government regulations and discovered the ideas of classical liberalism through the work of economist and philosopher, Amartya Sen. She was also Policy Director in a Liberty minded Brazilian non-profit before joining the LOLA team.

 

Anne Dias

Chapter Program Lead

Anne Dias is a lawyer and pro-liberty activist. She holds the role of regional president for LOLA Brazil and serves as the director of the LOLA Chapter Program. Anne has been actively involved in political campaigns and has also worked as a political advisor in the state parliament of Paraná. In 2022, she ran for the position of state representative in Paraná, located in southern Brazil.

 

 

Jess Gill

LOLA Social Media and Communications Manager

Jess is a British libertarian from Manchester. Her passion for liberty activism comes from seeing the increase in big government and wokeness in the UK. In addition to being the Communications and Social Manager of LOLA, Jess is also the host of LOLA’s podcast Miss Libertarian and a co-leader of LOLA England. Alongside LOLA, she is also a fellow for the Foundation for Economic Education, an apprentice for the Mises Institute and a contributor for the Reasoned UK. In addition, she frequently appears on British television, writes in various publications and has a prevalent social media presence on TikTok and Twitter. She is also currently studying Politics at Kings College London.

 

 

Maria Alejandra Moreno Giraldo

Chapter Operations Coordinator

Alejandra is an engineer and activist for freedom; she optimizes internal processes for political companies. She is the Regional Director of LOLA in Latin America and leader of the LOLA Chapter in Medellin. Alejandra has attended multiple conferences related to economic and political liberalism.

Ana Rizo

LOLA Speakers Bureau Coordinator

Ana Rizo is a Venezuelan-Canadian Lawyer. She is currently serving as the coordinator of LOLA’s Speakers Bureau and is also the Principal Advisor for the Montreal Economic Institute’s Young Leaders Civic Program. Ana has extensive experience in media exposure, having participated in various podcasts and interviews discussing public policy, foreign affairs, and socialism. Her background includes financial crime prevention in the banking industry. She is also the founder and president of the nationwide LOLA chapter in Canada.

 

Jennifer Monroe

Email Marketing Specialist

Jennifer Monroe is a DC transplant who juggles working in the financial field, being LOLA’s email coordinator, a co-host to two podcasts, and an active commentator on social media. She joined the liberty movement during Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign and has called it home ever since.

Estela Martinez

Project Manager: LOLA Activism Fellowship

Estela is a committed student pursuing a dual degree in Political Science specializing in Public Policy and Global Affairs. With a passion for impactful transformation, Estela is an experienced advocate and change-maker. Three years ago, she founded and served as the President of LOLA Guatemala and Oleada Feminista, demonstrating her commitment to impactful initiatives. With a background as an activist, Estela brings over 7 years of experience in International Organizations to her current role. Although she no longer holds the position of President, Estela proudly remains the Founder of both organizations, showcasing her enduring dedication to their missions. Notably, she previously served as the Social Media Strategist for LOLA, leveraging her expertise to enhance the organization’s online presence. Currently, Estela serves as the Project Manager for the new LOLA Activism Fellowship, contributing to her rich journey in advocacy and leadership.

Nathaly Merida

Project Coordinator: LOLA Activism Fellowship

Nathaly is a dedicated student pursuing a dual degree in Political Science with a Specialization in Public Policy and Global Affairs. Her academic focus spans a broad spectrum, reflecting her commitment to understanding the intricacies of political systems and global dynamics. Three years ago, Nathaly played a pivotal role in establishing the first LOLA chapter in Guatemala. Her passion lies in championing the principles of freedom that empower women to lead lives aligned with their ideals. Currently, as the leader of the Guatemala chapter, Nathaly also contributes her expertise as a member of the Research Commission on the LOLA LATAM Board. Additionally, she serves as the Project Coordinator for the new LOLA Activism Fellowship.

Stacy Gonzalez

Social Media Strategist

Stacy is currently a university student majoring in Political Science, excelling in the fields of data analysis and risk. Residing in Guatemala, she currently leads the LOLA chapter in Nicaragua. Stacy joined the organization due to her admiration for a women-centric entity promoting freedom. Being half Nicaraguan, she witnessed a country with abundant benefits fall into the hands of an authoritarian government. Now, she advocates for freedom and women’s rights.

Lyba Fatima

Assistant to the Director of Operations

Lyba Fatima was born in a small city in Uttar Pradesh, India. She completed her Bachelors in Law from the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University(AMU), in the year 2023. She has been a lifelong advocate of liberty and individualism but her real passion in liberty and individual freedom was ignited when she came across the works of Ayn Rand in the year 2018 during her first year at law school. Rand introduced her to the profound concept of liberty as the foundation of a just society. Shortly after, she was introduced to LOLA. For the last 5 years she has been working tirelessly to promote LOLA’s mission of educating and empowering female leaders within the liberty movement.

 

Ligeia Rose

Communications Intern

Ligeia is a pianist, composer, and writer from Las Vegas, NV. She became passionate about liberty after discovering Ayn Rand in her third year of conservatory, and has since enjoyed creating musical, visual, and written content from an Objectivist perspective. She runs a YouTube channel for her music videos, and is a content writer for the Ayn Rand Institute. She also has a blog, Bed of Roses, in which she writes about various ways one can romanticize life and lead a meaningful, rational existence. Ligeia was introduced to LOLA in early 2023, and believes in finding individualist ways to empower women.

Eleanor is an active-minded individual, her continuous goal is to expand her knowledge and expertise across diverse domains, consistently seeking opportunities to apply her skills to meaningful and challenging projects. She’s an idealist with a vision to leave a positive and lasting impact on the world through her contributions. She advocates for the pursuit of excellence and the embrace of rationality, emphasizing the value of individualism, personal achievement, and the relentless pursuit of happiness. Through ongoing self-improvement and the constant pushing of her boundaries, she aspires to effect positive change and serve as an inspiration for others to do the same.

Letícia Barros

Social Media Intern

Letícia Barros is a lawyer, entrepreneur and social media strategist. She is the vice-president and the director of communications of LOLA Brasil. She has worked on a presidential campaign directly with the candidate as well as with a city councillor in Rio de Janeiro. She is a fellow in the Prometheus Fellowship program, run by Students for Liberty and the Prometheus Foundation. Letícia currently works with political marketing and runs her own agency
