Meet The Team

Nena Bartlett Whitfield is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to Washington, DC upon completing her Master’s program in Diplomacy from Norwich University in Vermont in 2007. She has worked at the Cato Institute and has been involved with a number of political campaigns, most recently as assistant campaign manager for then-junior Senator Rand Paul. After the 2010 elections, Nena joined Sen. Paul in his Washington, DC office as a Legislative Aide on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. In 2013, Nena left Capitol Hill to work with the Ladies of Liberty Alliance as their first full-time Executive Director. Nena is active in her community as a founding member and former Treasurer of the DC Liberty Toastmasters, Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of DC, and the former Vice President and Treasurer of the Norwich Alumni DC Chapter.

Holly Jean Soto is an accomplished economist with a strong foundation in free-market principles, having studied under renowned economists at George Mason University. As the Director of Operations at the Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA), she has spent the past seven years managing and optimizing the organization's internal operations, departments, and staff to advance the principles of liberty worldwide. Holly Jean is also the creator and host of Basic Economics with Holly Jean, a YouTube series dedicated to making complex economic concepts accessible to all. She further honed her leadership skills by earning an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Harvard University.

Izabela is a member of the leadership team of LOLA Brazil and is the Director of Development. She is a Ph.D in Law and Political Economy from the University of São Paulo. She is a Frédéric Bastiat Fellow with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. While working as a researcher, she began to question her support of heavy government regulations and discovered the ideas of classical liberalism through the work of economist and philosopher, Amartya Sen. She was also Policy Director in a Liberty minded Brazilian non-profit before joining the LOLA team.

Lyba Fatima was born in a small city in Uttar Pradesh, India. She completed her Bachelors in Law from the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University(AMU), in the year 2023 and is currently pursuing her Masters in International & Comparative Law. She has been a lifelong advocate of liberty and individualism but her real passion in liberty and individual freedom was ignited when she came across the works of Ayn Rand in the year 2018 during her first year at law school. Rand introduced her to the profound concept of liberty as the foundation of a just society. Shortly after, she was introduced to LOLA. For the last 5 years she has been working tirelessly to promote LOLA’s mission of educating and empowering female leaders within the liberty movement.

Ichchha Khatiwada is a dedicated advocate for liberty and community empowerment. Having worked extensively across South Asia, she has collaborated with diverse groups to champion individual freedoms and drive positive change at the grassroots level. Currently serving as the Assistant to the Director of Operations at LOLA, Ichchha plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission. She also leads LOLA's Nepal chapter, spearheading transformative initiatives that promote liberty and uplift women within her community.Ichchha’s unwavering commitment to fostering freedom and equality continues to inspire, making her a vital force in creating meaningful, lasting impact both locally and globally.
