LOLA trains and empowers female leaders in the liberty movement. By fostering a community of like-minded leaders and providing leadership training, we are training women to become effective ambassadors of liberty able to reach new audiences with our ideas.
With 130+ chapters, LOLA is located around 46+ countries spanning over 6 regions across the globe. See LOLA’s Chapter Program for more details.
LOLA Social Chapters are ladies-only social groups. We focus on women to help address the shortage of women in the liberty movement. While LOLA receives requests from women worldwide who are intentionally seeking a womens-only space to connect and and further their leadership abilities, we receive a lot of support, partnerships, and donations from our male peers in the liberty movement. LOLA occasionally hosts events open to everyone. We leave it up to Chapters to host to decide which events are open to the public.
LOLA is a nonpartisan organization that remains independent of any political party affiliation. We identify as a “small l” libertarian organization, distinct from the “big L” organizations associated with political parties. The primary focus of LOLA is to educate and promote libertarian ideas. Recognizing the diversity of perspectives within the libertarian ideology, LOLA respects individual autonomy and encourages members to form their own stance on political matters.
LOLA was established as a nonprofit in July 2009 in Washington, D.C. by LOLAs President, Nena Whitfield. Its global expansion began in 2017 with the help of LOLAs Director of Operations, Holly Jean Soto, with the establishment of its first chapters outside the United States, starting with Latin America and Africa. Today, LOLA expands into 6 regions including North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Brazil, and Europe.
LOLA stands out as the leading women’s organization dedicated to training libertarian women worldwide. While there are other liberty-minded women’s organizations, LOLA distinguishes itself by its global chapter presence led by libertarian women. While other organizations promote the principles of individual liberty and limited government, LOLA specifically focuses on educating and empowering libertarian women, enabling them to effectively share these ideas with new audiences.
