At Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA), we believe that women are the best ambassadors of liberty. This International Women’s Day, we’re not just celebrating women—we’re empowering them.

Throughout March, LOLA chapters around the world will be hosting special events to educate, train, and celebrate women who are making an impact in their communities. Whether it’s a leadership workshop, a discussion on economic freedom, or a networking event, our goal is to equip women with the tools they need to advocate for liberty and personal empowerment.

We invite you to join us in this global celebration of women’s rights, independence, and leadership. Stay tuned for updates on events near you, and let’s make this month a powerful reminder of what women can achieve when they have the freedom to thrive!

Theme of the Year
'Private Property for Women'

Private property fundamentally transforms individuals’ lives by providing security, autonomy, and economic empowerment. For women, in particular, access to and ownership of property can be life-changing. It offers financial independence, reduces vulnerability to poverty, and strengthens their decision-making power within households and communities.

Historically, women have faced legal and social barriers to property ownership, which has left them economically dependent on male family members. When women own land, homes, or businesses, they gain greater control over their futures. Property ownership enables them to invest in education, health, and entrepreneurship, breaking cycles of poverty and increasing their social and political influence.

Additionally, owning property can provide protection against domestic violence. Women with secure housing are more likely to leave abusive relationships and build safer environments for themselves and their children. It also allows them to access credit and financial services, further enhancing their ability to generate income and contribute to local economies.

Free Markets and Private Property: The Foundation of Women’s Freedom

Throughout history, women have faced barriers to economic independence and personal freedom. From legal restrictions on owning property to limited access to markets, these constraints have hindered women’s ability to thrive. The principles of free markets and private property rights are crucial in dismantling these obstacles and ensuring women’s empowerment.

Freedom Through Choice

At its core, libertarianism champions the idea that individuals should be free to make choices about their own lives. This extends to women’s right to own, trade, and build wealth without government interference. When women have the freedom to participate in the market and secure their own assets, they gain control over their futures—free from dependence on the state or others.

On this International Women’s Day, LOLA celebrates the power of free markets and private property in advancing women’s freedom. Economic liberty is not just a policy preference—it is a fundamental human right that allows women everywhere to prosper, innovate, and lead.

Women for Freedom: Local Conversations on Property & Economic Independence

LOLA Butwal Chapter organized the event “Women for Freedom: Local Conversations on Property & Economic Independence” to discuss women’s property rights and financial independence. The event featured an introductory session, interactive discussions on economic empowerment, and a case study on Nepal’s legal provisions regarding women’s property. Participants shared personal experiences, explored the significance of financial independence, and engaged in activities promoting self-reliance. The event concluded with a reflective video session and a group photo, marking a successful and insightful gathering.

LOLA invites all women to join us in advocating for these fundamental principles. By working together, we can ensure that all individuals—regardless of background—have access to private property and free markets, paving the way for greater prosperity and freedom.
