Entrepreneur and speaker, Magatte Wade, is one of the most notable female entrepreneurs to emerge from Africa.

Born in Senegal, educated in Germany and France, Magatte launched her entrepreneurial career in the San Francisco Bay Area. Passionate about entrepreneurship and creating high-end retail brands based on diverse African traditions, Magatte is is the founder and CEO of Tiossan, a high-end skin care products line based on indigenous Senegalese recipes and ingredients. Magatte created Tiossan to positively change the perception that the world has of Africa.

Magatte is also the original founder of Adina World Beat Beverages, a San Francisco beverage company.

Magatte speaks on topics such as culture and branding, conscious capitalism, entrepreneurship and free markets, innovation education and frequently speaks at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, MIT, Wharton, and Babson.

Magatte Wade was named one of the “20 Youngest Power Women in Africa” by Forbes in 2011. She received the “Leading Woman in Wellness” Award from the Global SPA and Wellness Summit, and was also featured on the cover of Forbes Afrique.

Magatte also serves on the Advisory Board of the Whole Planet Foundation of Whole Foods Market. She serves on the board of ASNAPP and the SEED Academy (Sports for Education and Economic Development), a private school in Senegal that prepares young people academically and athletically so that they can win NCAA basketball scholarships in the U.S.
