Background
Deirdre McCloskey is Distinguished Professor of Economics and of History, and professor of English and Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Trained at Harvard as an economist, she has written seventeen books and edited eight more, and has published some four hundred scholarly articles in economics, economic history, world history, rhetoric, transgendered advocacy, law, and business.
